Day 1, off to a late start.

All day at work yesterday, I was tracking my Isagenix package. It was supposed to arrive at my apartment. Sadly, UPS had other plans. Since no one was home to sign for it, they didn't leave it. I was so upset! I was determined to start today! I called as soon as I realized and told them I'd be at their local facility as soon as they opened to pick it up. So instead of waking up and starting, I was set back. I'm used to waking up and eating right away, so I was hungry! I got ready and headed over to UPS.

"Be careful, this box has some weight to it!"~ UPS guy.

Thanks for the advice buddy...

I got home and quickly opened up my new challenge!

There it was! In all it's glory. Four canisters of shakes. Two bottles of cleanse. A bottle of 60 isasnacks, a canister of Ionix Supreme, a bottle of Accelerator, IsaFlush tabs and some energy shots. Now to be honest, I also received a sample that had 2 snack bars and some other things I have already forgotten about.

I had already talked to my friend who ordered this for me and done some research so I knew how to get started with my day.

For the record, you DO EAT REAL FOOD on this. It is not just shakes. You replace 2 of your 3 main meals a day with shakes, and have one 400-600 calorie healthy meal. There are 2 snacks between meals as well (whether you use the isasnacks or have your own). Cleanse days (there are only 4 in the whole 30 days) is where you eat very little, if not no, real food.

I quickly made an Ionix Supreme "tea". Warmed up some water and dumped a scoop in. It wasn't horrible, but not fantastic. Regardless, I don't see myself having an issue drinking this every morning.

Since it was already late (about 10am), I waited about 10 minutes and had my first shake and Accelerator. The shakes (I got the chocolate based on my friend saying "get the chocolate") are actually really good. I really like melted soft serve ice cream, weird, I know, and this tasted just like that! Bonus!!

This is how the rest of my day will play out:

Snack - Hard boiled egg (2)

Lunch - Turkey Chili and 1 Accelerator

Snack - Greek Yogurt with Banana (DISCLAIMER! I'm pretty certain I'm not supposed to have a lot of dairy, but I had already done my grocery shopping. I plan on replacing this snack with hummus and cucumbers)

Shake for dinner

IsaFlush before bed.

Now, I suppose it's only fair that I share where I'm starting at (weight, measurements). So here goes

Starting Weight - 136lbs

Measurements:

Waist - 28.5
Love Handles Area - 36
Thighs - 22.5
Arms 11.5

I also have a body fat measuring device thingy.. Here's how that played out

That's 20.3% body fat and 22.6 BMI

And finally, some pictures of, well, me...

That last of the pooch.. Please go away!
Like I said.. Go away pooch!
Looking for more definition.. and not just in "a certain angle" way
Hey Tri's.. How about joining the party sometime soon?
Just looking for more definition..

So there it is. Me. In all my glory. I hope the next 30 show some great progress. Just as a disclaimer, I know I don't have 30 pounds to lose, but here's my thinking: If I can drop those last few pounds of fat after already been working out and such, someone who has yet to do anything will see much more dramatic results than I! The smaller you get, the harder it is to lose the fat. Cross our fingers, I hope this works!

Good Morning!

First off, let me introduce myself. My name is Jenna. I'm a nurse (a new nurse!). I'm a runner (not a jogger!). I'm a former fat kid.

When I was younger, my nickname was... wait for it... Chubber-Dubber. Oh yes. I was never really "fat" as a kid, but compared to my very slim older sister, I had some extra love hanging around my body. I don't remember it ever really mattering much to me in my younger years, though legend has it my sister called me fat one day and I didn't eat my lunch for a week.

It wasn't until I was older, 18-22ish, that I realized I had been gaining weight. I suppose it happens to many of us the same way. The Freshman Fifteen. Yes, I went to college and pack on the pounds from crappy food, crappy drinks, and no exercise.

The couple that shrinks together, stays together

At my highest weight, around 180lbs, I started to feel miserable. I was self conscious even though my boyfriend was madly in love with how I looked. He too was overweight. We ate crappy food together. But I was done. I bought The South Beach Diet book and began to change how I ate. I added in some walking/jogging and started to see the weight come off. I joined a gym, a real gym, and started lifting weights. I started running. I not so quickly came down to my lowest weight of about 126. I felt phenomenal! As time continued on, I continued to run (I just finished my first marathon!) and continued to lift weights and hit the gym. I try and eat healthy as much as possible, but from time to time I find myself going back to bad habits. Easy, crappy food that's just available.

Everyone always asked "How did you do it!?". There's no secret, it's hard work and dedication. It's moving more and eating better (note: I didn't say eating less!). It's a conscious decision to wake up today and not treat my body like crap! It's not easy.

So, why am I doing a 30 day cleanse when it seems I'm right on track? While keeping myself in a "maintenance" stage of life, I realized I still had more I wanted to accomplish on my journey. I never did get rid of that few pounds of fat on my stomach. I am NOT comfortable in a 2 piece, but will wear one with my boyfriend. I want to flush out the bad stuff I sometimes still put in and see what this body of mine can really do. I'm hoping to see a change in energy levels, and lowering of that cellulite that somehow creeped onto my chicken legs, and add some nice muscle.

So welcome to my journey. If you googled and found me this way, I hope I can give you the answers you're looking for. I spent weeks searching for other people's results. I feel like it's only fair that I share mine.
